Hey brother. I'm the Brute, big brother Brute! And welcome to the and I'll be your temporary guide, friend, specially for this floating thing. Anyway, I've like you to continue to follow my words or just simply neglect me forever, but if I were you, I should be that guy.... so uhh, how do I start this.... ah ha! You can start by checking out our rules and manual on how to be respectful and edit respectively. Simple right?
Marksman specializes in long-range target picking, being able to eliminate important targets from far away in the battlefield with his Sniper Rifle. He is effective at longer distances, but his effectiveness weakens as his target closes the gap where he is forced to use alternative weapons such as MAC-10 and the Machete.
Using his Sniper Rifle, he can eliminate any class with a headshot, dealing 108-450 damage depending on how long the user has charged their bullet.
Whenever he is scoping with his Sniper Rifle, a team-colored beam will appear from the Marksman's position to where he's aiming. Its opacity changes depending on Sniper Rifle's charge meter.
Because enemies can see your laser dot, aim at other objects, such as doorways or other obstacles to hide your presence. Alternatively, you can use the Huntsman, though be aware that this weapon is not hitscan and is affected by gravity. It's hitbox could also be odd at times.
Conversely, you can use your laser dot to discourage enemy advances, as most opponents will take alternative routes rather than walk through a Marksman sightline. Keep in mind, however, that this tactic is less effective on Flankers, who are fast enough to slip through your aim, and Agents, who can cloak to avoid detection.
Prioritize your targets carefully. As a pick-oriented class, you must help your team in the most efficient way possible, so look out for high-value targets, such as Doctors, Brutes, or other Marksmen.
Sticking to one spot will likely get you killed. The death cam gives away your position after a kill; switch to a new spot often, especially after killing another Marksman or firing the Model IV, which has tracer rounds that give away your position.
Stick with any nearby teammates when moving positions! If an opponent were to ambush you, such as a Flanker, you will have more than just your MAC-10 and a Machete to defend yourself.
Remember that staying scoped for long periods of time is not ideal, as you lose a significant portion of your peripheral vision, leaving you open to enemy attacks, and possibly other Marksmen (however, pressing Tab will override the outline of the scope, this is to make way for the leaderboard GUI that appears).
If you see your dot collide with either a teammate or thin air, you have found a disguised or invisible Agent.
You can place substantial pressure on Mechanics by firing at their buildings from outside their effective range; a fully charged shot followed by an uncharged shot can destroy any level 1 buildings. Make sure to kill the Mechanic first, however. Be careful, as when the Mechanic notices you, he could have the Wrangler equipped near his sentry and kill you easily.
A fully charged headshot can one shot any classes being overhealed (bar classes with active damage resistances).
Original 2017 version: Fishing Cap, Trecky Hair, Poncho, W Inc. Designer Sunglasses, Bandit.
If Marksman dies, he'll retain his RED face from 2018.
During the rehaul phase and a significant chunk of pre-rehaul phase, instead of the MAC-10, Marksman had a Tec-9.
Marksman originally had a Magnum Pistol, lending appearance from the IMI Desert Eagle and presumably having similar stats to the Agent's revolver.
At one point during pre-rehaul, Marksman instead had a TacMac, being much more similar to the MAC-10 from Left 4 Dead, sharing a similar rate of fire and spread.
Marksman used to have a taunt during pre-rehaul, where he would kneel down and tip his hat. This would be re-instated on December 21, 2021.
The original design for Marksman during the rehaul was used at some point.
An unknown actor voiced the southern soldier from ROLVe's other game, Unit 1968, which were re-used for Marksman as a placeholder.
The scar on Marksman's right eye most likely could be a reference to the scar Sniper has in TF2, except it is on his cheek.
When Marksman taunts while wielding their machete, they brandish their machete, however what is interesting is that Marksman brandishes their machete with the hand that is gloved.
During Arsenal'sRB Battles 3 event, it is confirmed Marksman has a gun range venue.
Two of Marksman's items come or based from the Middle East which are, Skullbuster and Sheik.
